The Fire Protection Association has introduced a new suite of Continuing Professional Development courses aimed at helping fire safety professionals maintain and demonstrate their competence as legislation, standards and risks evolve.
The expanded programme reflects the growing range of knowledge expected of fire risk assessors, Responsible Persons and other professionals involved in building fire safety.
Topics include fire door awareness, arson risk assessment, electric vehicle charging installations, fire safety within purpose built blocks of flats, fire risk assessment reporting and the legal responsibilities of Responsible Persons. Further training addresses residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans and person centred fire risk assessments.
The programme also includes training relating to BS 8214:2026, focusing on understanding and applying the revised standard for fire doors.
The FPA says the courses support competence development across the fire sector and help professionals respond to an increasingly complex regulatory and operational environment.
